Completing Your First Story

Shadowing a Team Member:
Before you get started taking stories on your own, you will get the opportunity to shadow/pair program with another member of the team. We recommend that you reach out to your mentor (which you'll see listed on Student Portal). If for whatever reason they aren't available to let you shadow them, then feel free to reach out to other team members for opportunities. Work with them on their story/incident until it's complete. You likely won't completely understand everything they're doing, but do your best to follow along and ask questions when you get lost.

Taking Your Own Story:
After you've finished shadowing a team member, it's time for you to work on your own story! Attend standup or reach out to your mentor and assign yourself work to do. You should work on this story on your own, but if you get stuck on a problem you're more than welcome to get help. After you complete your first story, your training will be officially complete!
